Development of Carbon Methodology for the NBS Sector in Indonesia’s National Registration System (SRN)
This methodology is tailored for carbon projects aimed at halting the development of HTI and includes components such as applicability, eligibility, geographical boundaries, temporal boundaries, and additionality assessment, in addition to the carbon calculation methodology itself. It is developed based on various sources, including IPCC guidelines, CDM frameworks, and several international voluntary standards.
Pre-Feasibility Study for a Carbon Project in Central Kalimantan
The study involved several carbon experts from Eco-Insight and was carried out in 2023. It has since served as a reference for Serra Bumi to further pursue the land for carbon project development. Given the potential for carbon credits, peatland protection, and biodiversity conservation, the project offers added value in supporting national targets for achieving Indonesia’s NDC and the FOLU Net-Sink 2030 goal, as well as improving the well-being of communities surrounding the project area. The potential carbon credits in the region amount to 800,000 tCO2e per year.
